If a picture is worth a thousand words, it conveys roughly the equivalent amount of information as a short story. My interest in documentary and street photography isn’t unique, in fact it’s likely the most common and perhaps even most cliched of reasons to create images: I want to tell stories. That said, I’m not convinced that the photographer actually creates the image. It seems more to be a process of creating a space of listening in which the subject can say things that they might not say in words, and in fact might not even have a relationship to in words.

There’s no real unifying theme to my projects other than a rewording of what I’ve said above: each project is a different attempt at Being Listening.
